
The Literate Mind
| In a literate mind, two modes of thinking -visual thinking and verbal thinking - are clearly differentiated, clearly distinguishable, yet interdependent skills. A painting is different from a book and yet many of the same intellectual skills responsible for the painting are responsible for the book.
